Aurora’s Beautiful Change for 2010
Ashton Kutcher’s youtube show The Beautiful Life is asking, “what is your Beautiful change for 2010?”.
And we ask you: What changes do you intend for yourself next year?
ActorFest- Demo Reel Services: Secret Handshake Entertainment
We were able to collect two interviews for Reel Services at ActorFest. They offer different services and we encourage you to look around and find the best fit you you. Here is a link to our Create Your Reel interview for comparison. Secret Handshake Entertainment is a production company that will also put your reel together. We spoke with Joe Gressis and we were able to find out more about his approach to putting together a strong reel in the market today. He says he puts together an actors’ reel from his perspective as a Producer.
ActorFest- Improv Training: Acme Comedy
We spoke with Dan Kane at Acme Comedy. He gave us useful info about their improv school, training, and shows! Check out what he says about being a newbie in town!
Was this info helpful to you? Let us know!
ActorFest- Demo Reel Services: Create Your Reel
We captured an interview with Retta Putignano, owner of Create Your Reel, a company that writes, shoots and edits a reel for you. If you’re missing footage and want to showcase your chops, Create Your Reel is where to go. She gives a bunch of good insights about what the current trend in reels are today.
Let us know what you think! We want to know if our content helps you!
ActorFest – Commercial Talent Agent: Kris Diedrich
We were able to catch up with Kris Diedrich, an agent from Synergy Talent, who had fantastic information about how to get an agent. She was extremely helpful and had so much info for us. Two important pieces of information that she did give us (that didn’t make the video cut): if you are interested in becoming a Commercial Actor that she looks for Improvisation experience on the resume; and that her Theatrical Clients ( ie: actors she represents) need to have a great reel.
What do you think? If you have any important information that an agent has given you, leave us a comment and tell us what they said
Who’s Behind the Scenes of “Sarah’s Choice” the movie: 3 Part Interview

In an earlier vlog I gave you a mini tour of WB and divulged some great info on doing Extra work as I found my way to the screening of “Sarah’s Choice“, a touching film about a woman who must decide between abortion or keeping her child. When I got there I was lucky enough to snag a micro interview with Billy DaMota, the Casting Director, and have him talk a bit about the casting process. I also have two written interviews with Director, Chad Kapper, and his Manager, Beau Miller. They reveal information about their roles in the industry, as well as some views about who they like to work with. I’ve had some really cool conversations with these guys and love that they all “care”. I’m in total support. -Aurora
Questions for Chad Kapper, Director
Aurora: What is your company and your role in it?
Chad: StoneKap Productions is a multimedia, video, and film marketing company. We produce commercials, marketing videos and interactive presentations. I am the president.
Aurora: As a Director, how do you go about picking projects?
Chad: First and foremost I only select projects that align with my values. I mostly enjoy ‘character’ projects. I love films with heart. It doesn’t matter if it’s corporate or feature entertainment…
ActorFest- Seat Filling Service: Theater Extras
We learned about Theater Extras, a seat filling service, from Justin Okin at ActorFest. This means you get to see theater all over LA and NYC for cheap! What this little gem we found gives you is a way to do your live theater research for the price of one or two Broadway tickets a year. Plus, if you email Justin@theaterextras.com, he’ll hook you up with a 20% discount!
A Thankful Thanksgiving @ Gobble Gobble Give
This Thanksgiving we joined some fellow actors & friends at Gobble Gobble Give & we definitely had a very Thankful Thanksgiving! In this video you will meet our friend Amro Salama, a very awesome and proactive actor to know; Amro is doing very well with making leaps and bounds in his professional acting career. We plan on meeting up with him for a future Actor Factor interview to get some acting insight and tips; he’s actually the reason we found out about this great volunteering opportunity event so: thank you Amro, you rock!!
We highly recommend being a Thanksgiving Volunteer at Gobble Gobble Give next year (or donate if you can’t make it). This is a fantastic cause with great people and currently runs in both New York and Los Angeles. If you see us there next year be sure to say “Hi!”
